Lucky for us all, the Vancouver Port Authority has made a new rule and they are really hoping to get everyone's cooperation with it. Taken from their article posted below, “The First Narrows is a narrow waterway with challenging tide and current conditions that can make it difficult for small watercraft to safely navigate,” a statement from the port read. “More human-powered pleasure crafts including kayaks, canoes and paddle boards are in this area, especially during this time of year. The port authority is encouraging boaters to slow down as vessels moving at high speeds can pose a danger to these small watercraft.”
The Vancouver Port Authority is asking all boaters to observe a voluntary 15 knot maximum under the bridges so that we can all live another day out there. Just makes sense people! Click here to read the article.
HI, I'M KATE
A Captain's daughter, who became a Captain's wife. I remain always, a mermaid out of water looking to get straight back to the sea, whenever possible.
